Actually yeah why not. Essay/relationship meme is go! I might be slow due to a lot of math homework but ahhh well y'know. I currently play Kodachi Kuno, Steven Hyde, Stacy Rowe, Hidan, and Ty Lee, and I formerly played Freddie Mercury. Er. I mean, Takashi Kamiyama.

1. SURE relationship for Ty Lee on Suzaku.

2. The finale has passed, yes. But what are your thoughts on post-canon Ty Lee's adventures after she meets back up with Azula and possibly Mai too?

Alternatively, how she completely ruins the Kyoshi warrior image over time.

I'm just going to do the relationship meme first so I can get the other stuff out of the way and then get back to post-canon.

Anyway oh Suzaku. It's like. At some point Suzaku sort of become Ty Lee's ideal guy and the measuring stick to which all other guys are compared to. She seriously considers him like perfect for her; he's sweet, considerate, athletic, perfectly willing to let her drape all over him and be affectionate without complaining, and yeah then there's the whole really, really, really attractive thing. Also, she really really dug kissing him because omg braid stroking I'm pretty sure nobody had ever actually. Done that in a kiss with Ty Lee before and she really liked it.

Now THAT BEING SAID even though Ty Lee is incredibly attracted to Suzaku and wants to kiss him like all the time, she's not going to. This is because she kind of likes their friendship and is cool with that staying about as platonic as friendships between Ty Lee and people she finds attractive can ever get, and also because well, she has a girlfriend. And even though she and Misa have an open relationship and Ty Lee knows that Misa wouldn't get mad over in any sense other than "but it's my turn now :(," Ty Lee doesn't want to get herself into a situation where she would get so into someone else that she wouldn't treat Misa the way she deserves to be treated, since Ty Lee is legitimately in love with Misa and doesn't want her to even have the possibility of feeling left out or second-best.

So basically Suzaku will never not be the victim of tons of affection from Ty Lee and all that, but Ty Lee isn't going to go out of her way to push the envelope beyond draping on and affectionate pecks when Suzaku does something exceptionally sweet, because she's trying her hardest to be a good girlfriend who knows how to maintain a healthy open relationship.

Also, she thought tiny!Suzaku was too adorable for words and the next time they thread she's totally gushing to him about what a cute kid he was. Just so you know and all.

Okay uh let's see. THIS IS GOING TO RAMBLE AND NOT MAKE SENSE okay? Okay.

Yeaaaah, Ty Lee is going to be really really really bad at the whole Kyoshi Warrior thing. She'll actually enjoy it and have a lot of fun, but for however long she stuck to it (I can't imagine it being more than a year) she would pretty much be the bane of any traditionalists in the group because Ty Lee pretty much shuns traditions entirely. She'd try to get her own version of the uniform that didn't weigh her down so much, try to argue her way out of the makeup when she realized that it just took too long to put on every day and didn't exactly do her any favors to begin with. She'd probably shirk her duties a lot too and mostly spend her time playing around with kids and flirting with locals and making Sokka's life a living hell whenever possible, and it's not like anyone could really... do anything about it, besides Suki.

Anyway, once she got bored with it and decided to move on, I'm not sure what Ty Lee would do exactly. Probably wander around the Earth Kingdom, actually, meeting people and trying new things; maybe she'd spend some time traveling with the singing nomads, after which she could run into Jun and totally adopt her as Surrogate Mai (whilst the real deal's busy with the exciting life of being monogamous with the Dork Lord) and take badass femme fatale lessons from her, since Ty Lee clearly already has those inclinations given her rapefaces. And then after that she'd visit with Zuko and Mai and maybe her own family if she could be bothered to remember to do that before probably going back to the circus for periodic tours with them in between all the other stuff she'd take up.

I think ultimately Ty Lee would sort of end up just... well, being Ty Lee, and never settling down anywhere or being satisfied with just doing one thing in life. The only people who could really get her to stay in one place for a long time are Azula and Mai, and Azula's in a mental institution (sob website canon) and Mai's got Zuko. So Ty Lee would just let the universe take her where it may,

Also, she would write to Azula every week no matter what, even obligingly using writing material that would be easy to burn or tear up if that's what Azula wanted to do to it. She'd hope to manage to get an actual correspondence going with her, but would ultimately settle for the fact that no matter what, she's still sharing her life with Azula in a way. Basically, if Azula became sane again and wanted to reconcile with Ty Lee that's probably the one thing that could get Ty Lee to commit to one thing full-time (aside from Mai going "oh god what have I done" in regards to being with Zuko forever, in which case she and Ty Lee could totally go off on awesome lesbian adventures together), because her biggest regret in life is almost certainly the repercussions of her actions at the Boiling Rock, even if they were for the greater good. She pretty much drove Azula insane, so she'd also want more than anything to help her get back on her feet and find a new purpose that doesn't involve, you know. World conquest.

And also, on a completely unrelated note, Ty Lee is going to grow up to be a player, man. Whatever the Avatarverse's equivalent of a little black book is, hers will be by far the most epic out of anyone in the Avacast. It's just, you know, how she rolls.

Uhhh. Ty Lee's thoughts on Itachi? And Hidan's, too, if he has any I don't already know about. XD

Ty Lee likes Itachi! For some reason he's one of the few attractive guys she knows and is fond of that she also has never really thought of in a "wow that guy's cute" sense which amuses me. She wants to get to know him better because he seems interesting and pleasant to be around and she's really really sad he's dead ;; but they haven't threaded enough to get much beyond that

The only new thing regarding Hidan is that he thinks it's hilarious that Itachi's dead. Pure gold. Especially since it means he outlived Itachi (which... is... technically true yes) and that's really awesome. Fuck you, Uchiha. :|b

Ty Lee's thoughts on Yoshino? :D

Ty Lee likes Yoshino! But also actually she thinks she's kind of odd because of, ironically, how really sort of normal she is, because Ty Lee usually doesn't spend time around normal people who can't, like. Wallrun or do martial arts or fly robots or anything really crazy. Well, except for Misa, but Misa obviously doesn't count because that's a different relationship there. So Yoshino comes off to Ty Lee as being mostly just a normal girl from the sort of world camp is apparently in, and that sort of intrigues her; in some ways it makes her stand out more than she might otherwise since Ty Lee is so completely used to expecting the weirdest in camp. There's also other stuff that pings her like the martial arts stuff and all, but that's mostly it?

Oh wait, also Ty Lee clearly needs to thank Yoshino for indirectly teaching her the sunscreen seduction strategy since Katara told her about it and Ty Lee got to use it to great effect on Suzaku. Clearly.

YOUR PERFECT TY LEE ENDING

ESSAY AT ME

From: [identity profile] head-overheels.livejournal.com
Oh jeez uh. WELL. I guess the problem with doing a FULLY satisfactory Ty Lee ending is, well. They had so much shit to fill in during the finale that they never would have had time for a perfect one but IN HYPOTHETICAL FANTASY LAND Ty Lee probably wouldn't have joined the Kyoshi Warriors unless there was a really good reason for it that was actually explained clearly instead of the vague stuff we got in the actual finale. Because I don't have the sort of exasperated anger at it that I had a week ago; it's still silly and poorly-executed, but it's not like it would be impossible to sell it, and it's not like there aren't hilarious upsides to it in theory (though not really because it's not like we'll ever SEE the inevitable hilarity that would have stemmed from Ty Lee, Sokka, and Suki all essentially living in the same place at the same time).

ANYWAY. Ideally, Ty Lee's ending would have been first a scene with Mai and Zuko giving some good Ty Lee/Mai interaction and also some sane-two-thirds of the Dangerous Ladies mockery of Zuko because c'mon. And then Ty Lee would ask Zuko where Azula was in terms vague enough to not be like expositiony "well I'm off to see Azula now bye guys" stuff but at the same time making it quite clear where she's going. Cue "she's crazy etc. etc." distrust stuff from the other two and Ty Lee insisting that it's something she needs to do, and then she can go off so Maiko can happen and Zutarians can properly BAAAAAAAAW at the screen.

And then... uhhhh. Yeah. I HAVE NO CLUE how the Ty Lee/Azula scene would go. Or, I mean, I know how I'd want it to go but I'm not sure how you'd make Ty Lee/Azula reconciliation feasible so that would probably be out. I mean, let me put it this way; at this point the most IC post-canon Ty Lee/Azula stuff out there is Ruby's art. Only one fic is even doing a decent job of writing them and even that's started to go massively downhill with the introduction of time-honored standards like Ozai beating Azula when she was a kid, orz. So... I don't know what to say there. Just something that would show that Ty Lee still cares deeply about Azula and regrets the fact that she made her lose her mind, even if it turned out to be for the greater good, and would I dunno show that Azula has a shot at eventually becoming a functional human being again. Avatar's writers are AMAZING they could pull this off sob.

And then finally she could just be in the group scene at the end that they didn't even freaking put her in did they god, mocking Sokka because one last bit of Ty Lee/Sokka interaction would be fun since they completely dropped that in Book Three too.

So I THINK THAT'S IT? Really I would have settled for even the implication that Ty Lee still cares about Azula beyond the rather terrifying fact that the two Kyoshi Warriors she molests have Azula and Mai's hairstyles sob Ty Lee why are you crazy
